  • This trip was a week or so back, had an awesome time with a cool crew of people, traveling around in camper vans was lot of fun…. There may have been a collision, who knows? Anyway read about the trip in an upcoming issue of WAVES magazine. (Taken with Instagram)

  • This is getting me amped to surf!

  • Here’s a section from lasts months WAVES magazine cover mount. Filmed and edited by Shane Fletcher.

  • When I first started this site, my intention was to put regular fresh surfing posts up. Unfortunately I’ve had a couple of injuries of recent that have put a stop to that.
On the same trip to the Mentauwi’s that lent me a nice grade 3 ligament tear in my ankle, I was unlucky enough to also end up fracturing my neck in a pretty ridiculous coconut/ log collision. Footage below.
After my friendly GP told me that my headaches were ‘not related’ to my coconut /log incident I spent an especially boring three months sitting on a couch trying to heal my ankle, none the wiser to the crazy little crack in my neck.
After getting back in the water after the three months, so amped and ready to surf again, the headaches came back and I pushed for an X-ray.
Glad I did or I might be a lot worse off than I am now with my trusty neck brace.
Anyway, I am about as ready to surf again as a person can possibly be! As soon as I am surfing again you will know about it, you will hear me screaming a joyous sing song from the roof tops!
P.S get a second opinion if you ever have a coconut/ log moment.

  • I have a vid section on the new WAVES cover mount, ‘Shortcuts’. Filmed and edited by Shane Fletcher. Great job for his debut, full length movie. Matty Banting and Ryan Callinan have great sections. For those of you that want to check it out the trailer is a few posts below.

  • Went to the Mentauwi’s a few weeks back for a Surfing Life mag trip. Ended up injuring myself trying an air five days in… tore the ligament in my right ankle.
Four weeks down two weeks to go till I can get off my crutches and doing some physio, been torturing myself checking the surf at home, has been looking really good the whole time i’ve been out, hope it sticks around for when I’m back in the water!
